Avocado Mango Salsa

Avocado Mango Salsa

Sweet, summery mango salsa – so refreshing and perfect for this hot 100 degree weather. This is a favorite to throw onto some fish tacos, perk up a green salad, or you know, devour with tortilla chips. Or a spoon. It’s tropical and fresh, just a little spicy, and nice and creamy. All of my favorites.

The Kitchen Sloth Slices a Mango

The Kitchen Sloth Slices a Mango

Here it is guys – the Kitchen Sloth way to slice a mango. Alright, I did not invent this way, but I give it my Kitchen Sloth stamp of approval that is is the easiest way and also least likely to slice off fingers in

Garden Fresh BLT

This is less of a recipe and more of your summer reminder that you should go make this sandwich (with lots of Sloth Shortcuts so you can make this Garden Fresh BLT whenever you want). This sandwich, for me, signals the peak of summer. It’s hot hot hot outside, fresh produce is easy to find, and you need a quick, easy, summer meal. Cold Brew Refrigerator Iced Tea

Cold Brew Refrigerator Iced Tea

This almost doesn’t seem like a recipe- but I only just started making this cold brew refrigerator iced tea recently, and it has changed my iced tea game! Keep some of this tea in the fridge all summer long for an easy, refreshing summer drink. What’s your favorite iced tea? Southern Sweet Tea? Unsweetened Iced Tea? Iced Peach Green Tea? This tea making method is so versatile – make your own sweet tea, flavored sweet tea (peach iced tea!) lightly flavored unsweetened tea (strawberry basil iced tea!) or something fancy…

Spaghetti Sauce with Italian Sausage

Spaghetti Sauce with Italian Sausage

This spaghetti sauce – it tastes like you spent all day in the kitchen, letting it simmer and bubble, with all kinds of secret ingredients and steps, when really… you spent 30 minutes making it. There are just a few steps to getting that cooked-all-day, mouth-watering flavor. Lots of variations- you can make it as a meat sauce with Italian sausage, a marinara sauce, or a filling vegetarian sauce with mushrooms.

Teriyaki Salmon Bowls with Asian Slaw

Teriyaki Salmon Bowls with Asian Slaw

These teriyaki salmon bowls are the perfect BOWL meal – filling but not too heavy, some protein, some veggies, and some delicious sauce. Crispy, blackened salmon with a sweet and spicy teriyaki marinade, some tangy Asian cole slaw, and some fluffy white rice. And ok, a frozen egg roll from the freezer on the side because why not…

Chili Lime Nuts

Chili Lime Nuts

A handful of nuts. Every nutritionist or dietician or healthy celebrity’s recommendation of a snack. Sounds like…DISSAPPOINTMENT. And sadness. I tried to do this for a long time – nuts ARE a great snack, if you’re not allergic to them. They have healthy fats to keep you full. They have fiber and protein and lots of vitamins and nutrients that are good for you! Win win win. But having just a handful of almonds makes me oh so sad compare to say… a handful of doritos. I really like my snacks. Plain almonds just doesn’t quite cut it for me. I like lots of flavor and zip and spice. What I prefer is more along the lines of um…. flavor blasted goldfish. If anything is called “flavor blasted ____” for example, it will be in my cart. So I guess that’s what these are- loaded with tons of flavor with spicy chili powder and zippy lime.

Breakfast Burritos – Sausage, Egg, and Potato

Breakfast Burritos – Sausage, Egg, and Potato

I just love a big flour tortilla stuffed with fluffy scrambled eggs, some spicy sausage, a cheesy, creamy sauce, and some potatoes and veggies. Slather that up with more salsa and avocado or sour cream. Yum. Is it breakfast time yet? They’re also great for breakfast on the go and I LOVE having some in the freezer for quick breakfasts. See all of the options below for different flavor combinations and substitutions, and use these sloth shortcuts for freezer breakfast burritos!

Dark Chocolate Sauce

Dark Chocolate Sauce

I love this so much more than bottled chocolate syrup from the store- it’s thick and rich and so so good. It’s my go to recipe because it’s all purpose—need a chocolate syrup for a coffee drink? Hot fudge for ice cream? Something to eat off of a spoon while you’re standing at the fridge. This dark chocolate sauce has your back. It doesn’t have dairy in it, so it lasts a long time in the refrigerator. If you don’t eat dairy, also a win!
